I studied Educational Science, Law and Psychology at Humboldt University, Berlin, graduating with an MA.

My interests in all these areas were focused on topics that would provide the ideal foundation for working in human resources. At key moments in my career, I have often benefited from having a deeper understanding of occupational and organisational psychology as well as knowledge of employment law.

Over recent years, I have consistently demonstrated my negotiation and consultancy skills. This has often involved collaborating with management and leadership on performance and structural issues, and with works councils on working hours, remuneration, data protection and staff development.

In each situation, the goal is always to find the most appropriate solutions and compromises that can be implemented.

Today's HR professionals also have to be change managers. I have supported several mergers & acquisitions from due diligence to integration. At the same time, I have optimised many processes and structures in line with a modern and dynamic environment.

Although HR professionals can work across multiple sectors, it is vital to have a good understanding of the subtle differences. A distinction must be made between companies where most of the staff are involved in highly complex activities and those where most are undertaking simple tasks. It is also important to distinguish between companies that have to act quickly and those that operate more slowly, between predominantly creative rather than structured workflows, and between production or consultancy work.

I have experience in various sectors and an excellent understanding of the differences, e.g. in the automotive industry, IT in the new economy, food industry, chemical sector, management consultancy, market research, gaming, pharmaceutical industry and financial services.
